Ohio

Had a great time in Ohio. My niece is getting too big. lol She is crawling all over the place and threatening to walk any day now.

She is quite the Diva in training. If she is unhappy, she is sure to let you know... Loudly. When she is good she is very good, but when she is bad she is LOUD! I guess it doesn't help that she is teething, though.

On Wednesday we went to Amish country. When we stopped for lunch there was a tour bus loading right where we were trying to walk. I had to walk through 100+ old people saying "Oh what a cute baby!" and "What a doll!" Yeah... She is.

After lunch we went to a real life pumpkin patch. You find the pumpkin you want, break it off the vine and drop the money in the can. (We tried to go to the house but it was too creepy looking for my taste.) We even got to pick gourds off the vine. The boys thought that was really cool. Of course the ankle high mud didn't hurt, either.

On Thursday Marty and the boys helped his brother move. They decided to move closer to her mother and found (what I am told is) a really nice apartment. I stayed at my brothers and my SIL, Sydney and I went to my mom's so I could fix her computer. We all then met at *Insert the name of Marty's employer here* for dinner. At dinner, my BIL gave each of the boys $10 for helping him move. It was a nice evening.

We left for home Friday. On the way out of town we stopped to see my grandparents. They have a dog and Marty is allergic so we sat in the lobby of their building. A woman came down and was talking politics with us. She said she won't vote for Bush because he is just like his father. "His father said "read my lips" and we had Vietnam. Now Jr. is giving us Iraq. And he promised us "1000 Points of Light" and they have all disappeared. And where is that national health care he promised us?" (No, I am not kidding... This is what she said.) Now, I am all for voting for who you want to. I wouldn't have it any other way. And I guess it is ok that someone forms their opinion on someone using flawed logic and misinformation, but SHEESH!! Nothing like taking the high (and low) points of American politics for the last 30+ years and blaming them all on one person.

So that was our big trip to Ohio. We got to see the people we wanted to see and avoid the ones we didn't. Learned never to go on the back porch of a house that looks like it was the set for a horror movie (especially when there are 50+ cats watching you.) We played with Sydney a lot, and generally had a good time.
